Web 2.0 Tools

I chose to explore Flickr because photography is one of my hobbies. Flickr is great for sharing photos with family and friends. Some of our family members are serving in the armed forces overseas and we like to share holiday photos with them.

Web Based App's

We use Google docs alot - for inventory, schedules etc. It's handy because staff can view their schedules on their computers as well.

Wiki's

Our library uses wiki's to keep track of projects for volunteers. When the volunteer supervisor is out of the library, the staff looks at the wiki to see what projects are available.

Library 2.0 is a great way to harness web services.

Slideshare

The Internet is making everything more convenient. You can upload a slideshow show that you prepared for a meeting. When you get there all you need is a computer with Internet access and you show the group your slideshow. You don't have to tote around any digital equipment.

Delicious

I just checked out Delicious. It has potential for library use. We move from service desk to service desk throughout the day and having to ability to look at all of the library bookmarks on any is great. There are sites we refer to again and again to answer customers questions. Having the list of these sites on every computer is valuable.
